Craft Beer

Craft beer is the collective term for distinctive beers from microbreweries. A single brewery may produce IPAs, stouts, Belgian whites, saisons, and more. Hop varieties, yeast selection, and creative adjuncts generate infinite variation. Recently, beers using sake yeast or miso as adjuncts have appeared. Craft beer may be the modern brewing movement that most freely explores the potential of yeast as a microorganism. Japan's craft beer scene has grown rapidly since the 2010s. Beers using local water and agricultural products express regional terroir in liquid form. Craft beer may be the most casual entry point for enjoying fermentation's diversity.
