Zip-lock bags can serve as containers for small miso batches. Fill with miso, squeeze out air thoroughly, and seal.

Transparency lets you observe changes easily — ideal for experimental batches testing multiple formulations simultaneously. Space-efficient for refrigerator storage. However, unsuitable for long-term weighting, so proper containers are recommended for serious batches. Thick freezer bags reduce tearing risk. Pressing air out by hand works well without a vacuum sealer. Multiple bags with different formulations feels like running a little laboratory.
